Ocean City, N.J. - Community organizations including Ocean City 2050 are reportedly preparing a lawsuit against the city challenging the rehabilitation designation that council approved on Thursday night.


In a newsletter, Ocean City 2050 said “A number of groups, including OC2050, will be filing suit against the City challenging the rehabilitation designation - citing the Council’s failure to meet the statutory requirements for rehabilitation, its arbitrary decision-making, its willful disregard of known financial conflicts, and its breach of fiduciary duty to the citizens it serves..”

Controversial “Icona in Wonderland” Rendering

On Thursday, City Council voted 5-2, approving the rehabilitation designation for Wonderland Pier, which allows conversations about the future of the site to advance with officials and the developer.
