Dot’s Pastry Shop, a longtime favorite for both locals and visitiors, announced Friday that it will not open for the 2026 season. While the news is disappointing for many who consider the bakery a must-visit stop each summer, the reason behind the decision is heartwarming.
In a message to the community, the owners explained that they are choosing to step away from the upcoming season in order to spend more time with family. The shop also emphasized that the pause is not necessarily permanent, leaving the door open for a return in the future.

The family--owned shop first opened in 1947, and quickly became a community staple. Dot’s built their reputation on classic, made-from-scratch baked goods and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that kept customers coming back for over half a century.
Customers online are wishing the Dot’s family well as they take a well-earned break after decades of serving our community and creating a tradition that generations of locals and visitors have come to love.
