Earlier today, Jim Kelly, the co-founder of Ocean City 2050 and long-time community activist announced his campaign for one of the council-at-large seats up for election in May.
Jim Kelly has been a resident of Ocean City for more than 20 years and has participated in initiatives including the Boardwalk Subcommittee and Ocean City 2050. According to his website, Kelly aims to serve an as “independent voice in local government” and pledges to promote transparency in governance.

Jim Kelly is running on a platform that highlights fiscal discipline, public transparency, and responsible growth. Kelley touts 43 years of professional experience, working in leadership roles in finance, operations, development, and business strategy. He is currently the Vice President of Erickson Senior Living.
Last year, Jim Kelly’s name had been attached to statements issued by Ocean City 2050, an advocacy group opposing the proposed 252-room ICONA Resort planned for the Wonderland Pier site. However, Kelly’s campaign does not have a specific stance on the issue listed, which is expected to be a prominent issue during the upcoming election.
