Ocean City 2050, a community organization of individuals who oppose Eustace Mita’s plan to build a hotel at Wonderland Pier, just revealed their proposal for the future of the amusement site.

The new proposal, named “The Wonderland Commons” features a “Reimagined Wonderland”, digital entertainment center, public attractions, rotating food trucks, and lodging. The “Reimagined Wonderland” would consist of a smaller, lower cost, family-oriented amusement park.

This proposal comes as Eustace Mita, the owner of Icona Resorts, has continued to push back his formal proposal to city council. His proposal is now expected in August (at the earliest)

While we wait for the proposal, it is important to note that Wonderland Pier is open this summer, but not the amusements. Inside you can find a small arcade, pizza shop, bike rentals, and more.
