BREAKING: Pete Madden Launches Ocean City, NJ Mayoral Campaign, submitting a petition minutes before the 4 p.m. deadline on Thursday, February 26th.

Pete Madden, who has served as City Council President, has officially entered the race, setting up a three-way content against Mayor Jay Gillian and Keith Hartzell. What was already shaping up to be a tight race now takes on a new dynamic with Madden’s name on the ballot.

Pete Madden was elected to City Council in 2014, serving as Vice President in 2015 and Council President from 2016-2020. In his professional career, Madden is the broker/owner of Goldcoast Sothebys International Real Estate.


The upcoming election will serve as a re-match between Jay Gillian and Keith Hartzell, after Gillian previously defeated Hartzell by 395 votes. However, the race shifts significantly with Pete Madden entering the race, giving voters an additional option that could reshape turnout.
