BREAKING: Another group of OCNJ business owners has just voted in favor of Eustace Mita’s proposal for a mega-hotel at the Wonderland Pier site.

Let’s make something clear: while these votes do not have an impact on if the hotel will be built or not, they do serve as a strong indication of the direction things are heading.

On Tuesday, Ocean City’s business community took another step toward reshaping the Boardwalk. The Retail Merchants Association on Asbury Avenue voted 16-5 in favor of Eustace Mita’s plan to transform Wonderland Pier into an Icona Resort.

This latest vote follows last week’s overwhelming approval from the Boardwalk Merchants Association, where over 90% backed the proposed mega-hotel. With growing support from local business groups, opposition to the project appears to be losing ground.

→ Remember, Mita has not yet formally presented his plan to city council. Once he does, and if it’s approved, the official process will begin. We’ll keep you updated and make sure you’re the first to know when that happens.
